b'Letter fromthe ExecutiveDirectorIf recent history has taught us anything, its that connection and communityare vital to all of us. Throughout thesedifficult times, the North AndoverHistorical Society has been reflectinga great deal on how we can best serveour beloved community, facilitateconnections among our residents and share what makes North Andover special to visitors.Since 1913, we have preserved and shared the many stories and objects that have shaped our town and beyond. With an eye to the future, we are now embark-ing on a journey to expand our mission and transform how we serve and connect with the community while retaining all that has made us a valued part of North Andover for the past century. We are building a center for history, culture and community in the former Textile Museum, now named the Stevens Center, that will dramatically increase our reach and impact. Cutting edge exhibits. Theater, live music and films.Lectures and meetings for groups of five to 75. Research services. Art and craftexhibits.Collectors fairs. Receptions and social events. Retail shopping and even a caf! The Stevens Center willoffer all of this and much more.In a quarter century as a museumprofessional, I have not come acrossanother project with as much potentialto benefit the community as does the Making History on the Common campaign. North Andovers citizens will be thebeneficiaries of a newly reimaginedhistorical society, steeped in traditionbut dedicated to improving the present and inspiring our future. Please join us in making our vision a reality! Brian Howard, Executive Director1'
