5 Reasons WordPress Should Be Your CMS

WordPress is the most popular content management system (CMS) in the world today. Don’t believe us? Check out these stats from 2017 here. In fact, 20% of the internet is powered by WordPress which means that over 75,000,000 websites are using WordPress right now.

So what are the top 5 reason that you should be using WordPress too?

1. Ease of use

Contrary to what most clients say when we mention using WordPress, the platform is actually very simple to use. The first thing that tends to come to mind is the ability to edit code and that scares people away, making them think they will have to learn how to do it.

Let us set this common misbelief straight. You DO NOT have to code anything to use WordPress and build a website if you do not want to. Having the ability to edit the code and have a platform that is open source is another advantage that we will explain further down in the post. But you should see this as an added benefit not something that turns you away.

Many of my clients are actually surprised when we walk them through the administrative process and how easy it is to add content, publish a blog post, change an image etc.

2. SEO Friendly

WordPress has been around for quite some time so the ability to SEO optimize your site has been integrated in a way that is easy and generally bullet proof. Having the ability to add in plugins that help you to understand the SEO that you are building and adjust on the fly is an added benefit along with the capabilities baked into the core CMS.

The capabilities are limitless here and the comparable on other platforms just doesn’t measure up.

3. Plugins

Unlike other platforms that force you to use their prebuilt systems, integrated into their CMS, WordPress allows you to add 3rd party plugins which able you to further customize your site to your needs and capabilities.

A lot of these plugins are generally free and save you time allowing you to extend the core functionality of your website.

4. Scalable

We all want our business to grow right? Well, with grow comes changes and these changes may require you to add new things, create another website, push out a ton of new content, add more users etc. With WordPress, this is all possible and at a fraction of the price.

5. Open Source

Like we mentioned before, having a platform that is open source is another ball in your corner. Thousands of developers around the world are working around the clock to improve the site and none of what they do costs you anything. Having the ability to make changes and customize something on the backend at any point in time is a game changer especially if you plan to grow.
